AutoWorld Japan Legacy system map & rebuild blueprint

How it all connects

The system as a network. Each node is a business area; the lines are the real flow of information between them — a customer's offer on the left becomes a Sale, then Shipping and Documents, then Finance and Reports on the right. Hover a node to light up what it touches; click to jump to that area.

The whole old system, mapped for the rebuild

Every page of the existing Classic-ASP site, grouped by the job it does for the business — not by how the old files are stored. Open any area to see its pages; click a page for its screenshot, a plain-English explanation, and how the new system with AI could do it better.

Where it runs today

Customer site: v1.autoworldjapan.com. Staff admin: autoworldjapan.com/admin. The plain autoworldjapan.com home is a newer, separate site not in this code.

The old code is infected

55 files hide a hacker back-door and 4 run any database command from the request. Passwords are stored as plain text. The rebuild fixes all of this cleanly — do not carry the old code over.

About the screenshots

Captured live from the running system for internal migration use — customer pages while logged in as a real account — so screenshots show real data. Invoice pages download as Word files, so they are listed but not shown. Keep this report internal.

Customer website

v1.autoworldjapan.com
For the new system. Plain-language search (“cheap diesel van under $5,000”), photo-based “find similar cars”, automatic translation per buyer, and smart recommendations. Move images to cloud storage / CDN.
For the new system. Modern login (email/OTP or SSO) with properly hashed passwords — today they are plain text. Let buyers self-verify instead of waiting for manual staff approval.
For the new system. Store every enquiry and offer in the database — most are currently only emailed and lost. Add an instant quote calculator and AI-drafted replies for staff to approve.
For the new system. Real-time bidding with live updates, AI bid guidance from past auction prices, and server-side checks so bids can't be faked.
For the new system. Live shipment tracking, on-demand PDF invoices, and online payment. Also fix a security hole — invoice pages currently adopt whichever login is in the link.
For the new system. Move behind a simple CMS so staff edit content without code, with AI help to write and translate posts.

Staff back-office

autoworldjapan.com/admin
For the new system. One clean vehicle record with images in cloud storage (not 16 fixed img1…img16 columns). AI can auto-tag photos, read the chassis/VIN and auto-fill specs.
For the new system. Pull auction data from a feed/API instead of Excel imports; AI price prediction; validate every bid on the server.
For the new system. A single deal pipeline from offer to sale, with AI-assisted pricing. Urgent: several pages build database commands from raw input (injection risk).
For the new system. Connect carrier APIs for live schedules and tracking; AI to optimise container loading and predict delays.
For the new system. A proper PDF/template service with e-signature; AI + OCR to read incoming documents and file them automatically.
For the new system. A real ledger (or accounting integration), live multi-currency exchange, and AI to flag unusual payments.
For the new system. A modern CRM with AI lead-scoring and follow-up reminders, duplicate cleanup, and encrypted personal data.
For the new system. A modern email platform with AI-written, segmented, translated campaigns. Replace the outdated CDONTS mail component.
For the new system. A mobile inspection app; AI can detect damage from photos and pre-fill the inspection sheet.
For the new system. A real BI dashboard with natural-language questions (“show unsold cars over 90 days”), replacing the old Flash charts.
For the new system. One reference-data service with validation and an API, so storefront and back office stay in sync.
For the new system. Role-based permissions, audit logs and multi-factor login. Critical: remove the injected backdoor and pages with no login check.
